THE EDIT
THE EDIT
You don’t need to do ALL of hypnobirthing. You just need the bits that actually help.
25 minutes. Edited for you.
HYPNOBIRTHING SOUNDS GREAT, UNTIL YOU REALISE HOW MUCH THERE IS…
The course. The book. The breathing. The affirmations you’re supposed to not find cringe.
Meanwhile, you’re still working, your baby’s due in a few weeks and apparently you should be listening to relaxation tracks every night when you’d quite like to eat dinner and go to bed.
Hypnobirthing can very quickly become another enormous pile of things you’re supposed to be doing.
So I edited it.
-
Why one “I can’t do this” moment doesn’t mean it’s all gone to shit - and exactly what your brain needs from you instead.
-
We’ll make the breathing and all the other stuff make sense - we’ll find one breath you actually like.
And a few things you can practise tonight, get familiar with and take into birth.
No need to memorise an entire menu of hypnobirthing techniques.
-
A few useful first moves so they're not hovering wondering whether to offer you water or quietly leave the country.
How to help you come back to what you've practised and support in a way that feels right for YOU.
-
How to make a simple, flexible plan that stands up if birth has other ideas.
Because hypnobirthing isn't about making birth go exactly as you imagined (we all know that’s just not a thing).
It's about knowing what really matters to YOU, whatever direction things take.
HERE’S WHAT MADE THE CUT:
AND THAT’S THE EDIT
WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO TRY.
WHAT YOUR PARTNER IS GOING TO DO.
WHAT MATTERS TO YOU.
AND WHAT YOU’LL DO IF YOUR PLAN CHANGES.
NO NEED TO LEARN ANOTHER 47 THINGS JUST IN CASE.
HI, I’M RACH
Two babies. One labour that lasted 30 hours. One so fast we nearly had her in an Uber.
I did ALL the hypnobirthing before my first.
And afterwards I realised there was a surprisingly small list of things I'd actually used.
Three years later, with pretty much no time to prepare for my second?
Yep. Same little list.
That's The Edit.
Steph & Joe
“Did it together tonight, SOOO helpful - and I’m going to make my husband watch it again - haha. THANKS!”
Ellie & Dave
“SO helpful, I wanted to to try hypnobirthing, but also didn’t want to feel bad for not spending 90 mins a day doing relaxation tapes - who’s got time for that?!”
I DON’T WANT YOU TO FINISH THE EDIT AND KNOW LOADS MORE ABOUT HYPNOBIRTHING.
I want you to close your phone and think:
Yep. I like that.
That makes sense to me.
My partner knows this one too.
That's coming with us.
NO ZOOM. NO 6 HOURS.
Watch it in bed.
Watch it on your phone.
Watch it with your birth partner tonight.
25 minutes. £24. Yours for keeps.
-
Nope. This is pretty much who I made The Edit for. It’s 25-ish minutes. You could watch the whole thing tonight and start having a go at the bits you like straight away.
-
Honestly, perfect. You don’t need to know anything before you start. I’ll explain the useful bits without assuming you’ve spent the last six months reading birth books.
-
I hear this a lot - but bring them. They don’t need to believe in anything. They just need to know what might help you and what you need them to actually DO. It’s a massive help for them too.
-
Not at all. Watch it now, start practicing a few things, then come back to it later if you need.
-
Nope. Vaginal birth, induction, C-section, or currently absolutely no idea - you don’t need to have that bit figured out first. Hypnobirthing helps whatever kind of birth you end up with.
-
Honestly? That’s sort of the point. The Edit isn’t here to give you another enormous pile of things to learn. It’s here to help you work out which bits are actually worth listening to.
